Getting to Leipzig

...by train

Leipzig is easy to reach by rail, road and plane. It is conveniently located on the Munich-Berlin train line. There is a direct rail link to Berlin (1.5 hours) and Dresden (1.5 hours). Trains to Hamburg are 3 hours, to Prague 4 hours and to Munich 4 hours.

...by airplane

Leipzig also has its own airport. Leipzig-Halle airport is easy to reach, with regular trains (15 minutes) connecting to the local bus and tram system.

Other convenient airports are

Berlin Schönefeld: http://www.berlin-airport.de/en/travellers-sxf/to-and-from/buses-and-trains/index.php

or Dresden (no information on how to get there on the webpage). The airport is connected to Dresden city center by a fast train (S-Bahn 2, which takes about 20 min to the city center and another 1.5 hours to get to Leipzig).

Transport in Leipzig

Leipzig has a compact city centre, which is relatively easy to maneuver on foot. There is also a very good tram and bus system. Taking taxis is not advisable because they are very expensive in Germany (about 25 Euros for 10 minutes). The railway station is just about North of the city centre and about 10-15 minutes walk from the venue.

Traffic in Leipzig can get very congested and the venue is in a pedestrian zone. We thus advise not entering Leipzig city center by car.
