Sustainability, Accessibility, and Inclusion
We are committed to minimizing the environmental footprint of the IABS 2025 Congress by mindfully managing energy and resources. We would greatly appreciate your support in helping us achieve this goal, and we welcome your feedback after the Congress regarding your experiences.
We are especially grateful to the Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation for supporting several measures in sustainability, accessibility, and inclusion.
Reducing Our Carbon Footprint
To lower the environmental impact of the IABS Congress, we are implementing several measures, including:
(1) Offering completely vegetarian and vegan food options, with an emphasis on regional production
(2) Prioritizing sustainable materials wherever possible
(3) Reducing waste across all aspects of the event
Additionally, Leipzig University already operates on 100% renewable energy.
Tree Sponsorship: “Baumstarke Stadt”
To celebrate the XXth IABS Congress, we are sponsoring a tree through the “Baumstarke Stadt” initiative. This long-term project involves planting trees in public parks, streets, squares, and municipal cemeteries throughout Leipzig, contributing meaningfully to a greener city.
Accessibility and Inclusion
We strive to make the IABS 2025 Congress as accessible and inclusive as possible. Measures include:
(1) Quiet Zone
A quiet zone will be available for participants who wish to take a break in a calm setting. The space will be equipped with:
Yoga mats and meditation cushions
Water and glucose
Reading materials
(2) Parenting Room
While we unfortunately cannot offer childcare services for logistical reasons, a dedicated Parenting Room will be available. This space includes:
A kitchen
Children’s toilet and diaper-changing facilities
Sleeping area
Toys for different age groups
Access to the Parenting Room is available upon individual request.
