Probing and analyzing the activity of brain organoids with advanced high-density microchip technology

Dissecting the functional organization of brain organoids is still a challenge. Here we present an approach based on high-density multi-electrode array (HD-MEA) to functionally characterize brain organoids. We described the spontaneous and drug-modulated activity of brain organoids in increasing levels of complexity (putative single-neurons, network and connectivity level). The drastic changes in various functional metrics serves as validation to our experimental approach and analysis.
