How to get to Leipzig?

You can reach Leipzig by plane via the Airport Leipzig/Halle (LEJ). If there is no direct flight to Leipzig from your city, we recommend you to fly to Berlin. There are regular trains to Leipzig from there which take about 75 minutes.

Leipzig is also linked with almost all European cities via the trains of Deutsche Bahn. Hauptbahnhof Leipzig (Leipzig main railway station) is located right in the city centre.

If you arrive by plane:

Deutsche Bahn InterCity (IC) and RegionalExpress (RE) trains run regularly between Leipzig/Halle airport and Hauptbahnhof Leipzig (Leipzig main railway station) and take 15 minutes. Tickets are available at vending machines at the platforms and will cost about 4 €. Please note that for IC trains you have to pay an extra fee so that they are more expensive - about 6 €. For more information see www.bahn.de

There are also various taxi services which offer airport shuttles. A ride to the city center will cost between 25 and 30 €.

If you arrive by train:

Hauptbahnhof Leipzig (Leipzig main railway station) is located right in the city centre.
